There are many ways to still enjoy the first meal of the day, even when you’re in a hurry. Here is a bit of inspiration with our breakfast on-the-go ideas.

Grab-and-go breakfast ideas to take to work or enjoy at home in the mornings

On-the-go breakfasts aren’t just good for busy mornings, but they are also great to take with you to the office. Starting your day off the right way is best done by making sure you have a nutritious breakfast. Starting the day without breakfast is like trying to keep a plant alive without watering it, soon it will start to collapse.

There are multiple benefits to starting your morning off with a balanced breakfast as well as making sure you are prepared the night before will ensure your on-the-go breakfast for the office will be both delicious and nutritious!   

Vegan on the go breakfast ideas

If you are in need of some great vegan breakfast ideas, then you have come to the right place! Whether you follow a completely plant-based diet, or are eating less dairy, our vegan on-the-go breakfast ideas are a great breakfast option in the mornings 

 

Homemade acai bowl

This may seem like a complicated grab-and-go vegan breakfast, however, by utilising the spare time you have the night before, acai bowls are simple and quick to make. They can be a great way to add fruit and vegetables to your breakfast.

Simply make up a smoothie using any fruit of your choosing, pineapple, banana and mango are some favourites for adding an extra bit of sweetness. Our Cheerios Blueberry and Banana Smoothie is the perfect base for your acai bowl! 

Make a smoothie ready for your morning breakfast on your commute. Why not dice up some blueberries, and nuts and add some pumpkin seeds, then simply sprinkle on top of your smoothie, pop in the fridge, and there you have it!

Simple vegan overnight oats

This is another night before breakfast prep. But vegan overnight oats are ridiculously easy to make.

Add 45 grams of rolled oats into a small jar, or container of your choosing. Then, 120ml of your non-dairy milk alternative choice into the oats. It can be sweetened or unsweetened, the choice is yours. Then cover the jar and refrigerate overnight. When you are ready to eat, you can add a sprinkling of cinnamon and some fruit toppings too. Alternatively, you can add these the night before. 

Vegan breakfast bars 

These vegan bars are tasty and full of delicious berry flavours. They are also easy to make at home too. All you need is, some orange or apple juice, jumbo rolled oats, crumbled Shredded Wheat Original® biscuit (45g), hazelnuts & almonds, dried apricots, raisins, and some sunflower seeds. 

Simply pop the apricots, raisins and juice into a food processor, and blend until you are left with a smooth puree. Transfer the puree to a large mixing bowl. Then put the Shredded Wheat and your oats into the food processor, then add to the puree. Do the same with the nuts and seeds, then combine all the ingredients.  

Line your 18cm square baking tray with baking paper, and spread your mixture evenly. Chill for an hour then cut them into bars.

Once your bars are ready, you can store them in the pantry, or dry space, and they will last for around 3-4 days. 

 

Gluten-free on the go breakfast ideas

So, we have put together a list of gluten free breakfast ideas that will help you get through those busy mornings. 

Gluten-free berry muesli 

Set your mornings off right with gluten-free muesli. This is a breakfast that will need to be put together the night before. Simply heat the oven and spread some walnuts, GO FREE® Honey or Plain cornflakes cereal and oats onto a baking tray. In a small bowl mix some honey and buttery baking spread and then drizzle over your cereal mixture.

Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, stir halfway through. Your muesli will be ready when it is golden brown. Pop your muesli in a lunchbox with some yoghurt and berries, seal and take it with you in the morning!

Gluten-free muffins 

These muffins not only are delicious, but they can also be frozen, making them a great grab-and-go breakfast option. These muffins are a great twist to our apple sauce muffins! 

Preheat your oven and grease a 12-cup muffin tin. In a mixing bowl add your buttermilk, melted butter, lemon juice, and eggs, then combine. Set the mixture aside.

In another bowl, place flour, crushed Multigrain Cheerios®, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and granulated sugar, and then mix. Transfer a little of this mixture to another bowl, and add your choice of berries, toss to coat.

Add your wet ingredients to your dry until combined, the batter will be thick and soft. Gently fold the coated berries and the rest of the ingredients together. Once complete, add to your tray and bake for 10 minutes.
